Hi! I was thinking about creating some separate locked folders to store some personal documents in them because I don’t want some people to identify the presence of those documents on my computer. Please provide the steps for how to create a locked folder on windows to store some important documents?

Steps For How To Create A Locked Folder On Windows

Windows7/8/10 does not provide the feature for the password protecting the folders, so the help of the third parties must be taken for creating locked folders. Though, it is very important to lock those folders which contain important documents for the sake of privacy and safety of the documents. To lock or to provide the password to the important files you can follow these steps-

• Select the folder you want to lock.
• Right-click on the folder.
• Select ‘Properties.’
• Click on the ‘General’ tab.
• Click on the ‘Advanced.’
• Click on the ‘Encrypt content to secure the data.’
• Now, click on ‘OK.’
