A few days ago, I installed a program suggested by a work colleague, but now that particular program is of no use of mine and it is also consuming a lot of space so, I tried uninstalling it, but I’m not able to uninstall a program. I tried to uninstall it several times, but it always keeps showing that ‘there is some problem while uninstalling the program FAILED!!!!’ error. Give the steps so I can easily uninstall the program.

Sometimes, while installing some programs or applications, the installer performs some changes and uninstaller is unable to remove those changes during the uninstallation process of those applications or programs. You can follow this method to uninstall the required program easily.

  • Open the Microsoft Store.
  • Search for ‘Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.’
  • Install it.
  • Now, run it.
  • Click on ‘Next.’
  • Select the ‘Uninstalling’ option appearing on the window.
  • Search and select the program you want to uninstall from the list appearing on the screen.
  • Click on ‘Next.’

If you do not want to download the ‘Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility’ you can also remove that program by force removing it from your PC.

If you want to uninstall a particular program that you no longer use but it keeps failing, you need to check if you are using an administrator account. You cannot uninstall or remove a program if you are not the administrator of the computer or you don’t have administrative privileges.

If you are using a limited or non-admin account and you don’t have any administrator account, ask the network administrator to uninstall the program for you or any user with administrator account on that computer. If you have an admin account but it keeps failing, try using Revo. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install.

Once installed, start Revo then select the affected program among the applications and click “Uninstall.” Follow the normal uninstall process. When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, exit Revo. If this doesn’t work, try forced uninstall.

In Revo, click “Forced Uninstall.” In the “Forced Uninstall” dialog, click “Browse for” then select “Folder.” In the “Browse for Folder” dialog, navigate to the location of the program or the installation folder of the target program, select the folder then click “OK.” Click “Next” then follow the instructions.
