Hello there,

When I want to install McAfee this error appears. It seems like is a problem with the installer but it is downloaded from a trusted source and is fully compatible with my Windows XP. Can anyone help me please to run the installer properly ? What could be the problem ?

Thanks !

It seems the installer you downloaded has a problem. Although the installer can be started but the program required for the installation seems to be damaged that’s why the installation can’t be started. This normally happens if the installer you have was downloaded from a different website instead of downloading it from the official website.

If you are installing the latest version of McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention, make sure you are using the supported Service Pack for Windows XP. The latest version requires Windows XP [Home, Professional, or Tablet PC] Service Pack 3. If you are not using this Service Pack, download and update to Windows XP Service Pack 3. This is the latest and last Service Pack for Windows XP.

After updating your operating system, try installing McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention again and see if it works. If you are not using the latest version, download and install a free trial of McAfee Host Intrusion Prevention 8.0 instead. It requires Windows XP [Home, Professional, or Tablet PC] Service Pack 3, Windows Vista Service Pack 1, and Windows 7.
