Is it possible to allow Skype mute music when talk ?

Hello,

All is in the title ; How can I allow Skype mute music when talk ?

I would like to know if it is possible to accept voice calls from Skype without having to manually lower the sound of my music.

Hi Alex Baker,

Yes, this is possible mute music / all volume of system, when talk on Skype / Call receiving device on pc.

Follow these steps:

1.      Start > Control Panel

2.      Click on Hardware and sound

3.      Then click on change system sounds

4.      Select communication Tab

5.      Select "Mute All Other Sounds"

Helllo,

The best way I've found to do this on Windows is by going into Sound, under control panel (Control panel -> Sound) and then click on the " Communications" tab. There, you should see an option to "Mute All Other Sounds" during a call. This actually works with Skype version 4.0+

Is it possible to allow Skype mute music when talk ?

Although it is possible to listen to your music and talk on skype at the same time. You need to understand your volume is usually dimmed 80 to 90%.  Actually skype is not why your volume lowers when you receive a call it is windows that changes the volume when it detects communications activities. You will need to do the following to be able to leave your volume at the percent you want it: First, you need to open the RUN command, second, you need to type mmsys.cpl, third you will need to click communications tab and then select Do Nothing and then save.
