Xbox 360 slim open tray error is a hardware error and not a software error, as many people may say. Try out the following tricks as it works most of the time –

1 – Try cleaning your disc drive – You can blow air into your disc drive to clean out the dirt, or if you want to try some engineering, open the disc drive and clean it. You get this error when the laser cannot read the disc.

2 – Try using any other disc – If any other disc is working fine in there, you need to clean the disc which was causing the error.

3 – Insert the disc by applying some force – This might sound weird to you, but it helps. Insert the drive-by applying some force and keep it inserted for some time.

If the above does not work, contact a technician.
