What should be done about a defective iPad home button?

Hello,

I’ve recently purchased an iPad from Best Buy. It’s a 32GB model and completely updated. After only one day, I have a loose-fitting home button. Everything else is  working well; but, whenever I press the home button, a shudder goes through it.

What I’m mainly afraid of now is the possibility of it getting worse as I keep using it. Going in for a repair is a hassle by itself; moreover, they may accuse me of having done something wrong with it. If you can advise me what to do about this, I will be really grateful to you.

What should be done about a defective iPad home button?

Don't freak out. I think it has a warranty period so better have it checked by tech support personnel in the store from which you have bought it. But if their's none, you can do something about it.

Activate the AssistiveTouch feature. Open the Settings app, then "General", proceed to Accessibility, and lastly AssistiveTouch. Turn it on. An icon will appear in the lower right portion of your screen that will signify that AssistiveTouch is activated. This can be dragged to anywhere in the bottom. Tapping that new icon will give you few familiar buttons. You will now have another option of Home button.
