I like to know about new concepts of networking so please tell me about NetBIOS so, What is the NetBIOS computer name? How to change the NetBIOS computer name?

Want To Know About Networking, Change The NetBIOS Computer Name

NetBIOS stands for Network Basic Input/Output System. NetBIOS name is the technical name of the computer, and it is the 16-byte name for networking, services. NetBIOS is used by the application to communicate on the LAN, I.e., Local Area Network. It is used to identify the computers on the network.

Steps change NetBIOS computer name:

1. First, right-click on the This pc then go to the properties.
2. Now click on the change settings.
3. On the popup window, click on the change under the computer tab.
4. Now on the Computer name/ Domin changes, click on more button.
5. Here you see the NetBIOS Computer Name.

Now you can change the name and click on the ok button
