Hello,
I don’t know what is happening to my PC. When my PC starts, I get nothing on the desktop screen. As far I know that there were a lot of files and icons on my desktop which I have been keeping from the last month, but at present there are no icons, no task bar, no start menu, nothing, just a blank screen with the wallpaper which I set for the last time.
I am trying to get any sort of icons by clicking right/ left, but nothing is happening. Then I restart the PC for several times by pressing the reset button, but I get on icons and taskbar on the desktop. There were some important files on my desktop. I will be in a big trouble, if I fail to recollect them. Can anyone help me?Â
Thank you.

Nothing is showing on desktop, how could I repair it?
What operating system are you using? If you have windows XP, try this: Right click on the desktop > arrange icons by > check the show desktop icons`.

Hi Suther,
Does this also happen to your desktop? Right click on the desktop, Arrange Icons By sub-menu, and you don’t see these three options. Show Desktop icons, Lock web items on the Desktop, Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard.
It might be in your Group Policy Editor or registry, the No Active Desktop Changes or No Active Desktop changes its policy and been enabled. To be able to fix this try first to open start button in the taskbar, or if you don’t see any taskbar at all try to hit the window shortcut on your keyboard and then run, a window dialog box will appear type rigidity.
Note: if you can’t follow or you can’t open the run dialog box as I instructed, you won’t do the next step, but if you did then you can proceed. When the registry editor open, left click the expand button of HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
Expand the Software > Microsoft > Windows > Current Version > Policies > Explorer and then double-click No Active Desktop Changes and set it to 0. And also double-click No Active Desktop and set it to 0 (if exists).
Now close the registry editor and restart your PC. You must see now the option that has been disabled in the Arrange Icons By sub-menu.
Now all you have to do now is follow these next step, right click on the desktop > choose the Arrange Icons By sub-menu > and check the Show Desktop Icon. All icons will be displayed again on your desktop. Hope this help, Good luck!
