To set up an FTP server on windows 7, you can follow these steps to create a local FTP server:-

1) Open the control panel and then click on Programs and in Programs, click on Turn Windows features on or off.


2) Now, find Internet Information Services and tick on it and then click OK button.

3) Now, open the IIS Manager. Under connections, click on sites and choose Add FTP Site.

4) Write any name for your FTP site that you like and choose the path of the folder you want to share.


5) Type your default IP address and select the option of “No SSL.”

6) You can choose at will whatever setting you prefer.

7) Click the Finish button. You can now access this server from anywhere from your local network.

To set up an FTP server on Windows 7, you can try this if above don’t work you:-

1. Visit the control panel and choose the small icon view option. After that, you will see the Administrative Tools option. Click and Run Administrative Tools, then go to the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager and then finally expand the local machine.

2. Right-click Sites and Add FTP Site. Then, name it anything that you prefer. For example, “Default FTP Site” and provide it with path “C:\inetpub\ftproot”; then click on the Next button.

3. Choose the option to Enable Start FTP site automatically and then select Allow SSL; after this is done, click on the Next button.

4. Enable Anonymous Authentication; hit Finish.
