Hi everyone,
I have recently switched my operating system from Windows Vista to Windows 7 and shocked to realize that my Windows Mail is gone. I tried using Windows Live Mail (comes with my Windows 7) but it's too complicated for a normal computer user like me.
I'm looking for a more direct to the point E-Mail application like Windows Mail that doesn't contain too much stuff that I don't need. Is there any possibility of using Windows Mail on my Windows 7?
Thanks in advance and have a good one guys!
Can I use Windows Mail on my Windows 7 computer?
Dear,
Sorry to say that this is a Microsoft issue. You or I or any other expert cannot do anything with this issue. I can give you some other suggestions or other ways for using your mail. Here I am giving a different mail software name for you.
1. Please Install Microsoft Office XP or 2000 or 2003 or 2007. Then configure mail to use Microsoft Office Outlook. This software is easy for use and this is similar with windows outlook express.
2. You can download Eudora. This is another Mail software and friendly usable. You can download this software from the link.
If this suggestion help you then please reply me with thanks.

Hello there,
Unfortunately, Windows 7 does not ship any email client. But you can have Windows mail in Windows 7. Just follow the steps:
-
Copy your Windows mail system file from Windows Vista to Windows 7.
(Ex. C:Program FilesWindows Mail – also include MUI language pack folder).
-
Create full permission and ownership in that directory.
-
Update registry for the .eml file.
To update the registry:
1. Run regedit.
2. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software >Classes > eml_auto_file > shell > open > command
3. Update Value Data with this : “C:Program FilesWindows mailwinmail.exe” /eml:%1
To import your Windows mail contacts, accounts, and emails from Vista click on this link for the instructions.

Hi There,
Unfortunately, Windows Mail is not included in Windows 7. Depending on how you installed Windows 7 on your machine, you may be able to recover your emails from Windows Mail. Please click on link for more information.
I would suggest you try Thunderbird because it is easy to use and very reliable. You can also import email contacts from Windows Mail into Thunderbird very easily. Please click to read More information. For your free download, please visit Thunderbird free download.
I hope I was able to give your more insights and solutions to your problem.
