Hi All,

Sound problem in Ubuntu Device /dev/dsp can’t be opened

Informational – artsmessage

 Sound server informational message:

 Error while initializing sound driver:

 Device /dev/dsp can’t be opened (No such file or Directory)

 The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

 Do not show this message again 

                                    OK

Sound problem in Ununtu Device /dev/dsp can’t be opened

Running lucid you have troubleshooter that check most of the common errors. go to terminal and then program accessories and then enter the following command

ubuntu-bug audio

before this command running you have to check the following. plugged your sound system and keep it on. Then check that your speaker or mic is not muted. and then check your volume level. check your permission and resources. following these step will solve all your problems. and your will enjoy your computer sound
