Dear User,

Your problem isn't too much of a worry so please let me put your anxieties to rest. I have two simple recommendations for you;

1. Follow the advice of the error message it's self' – Please install Windows Media Player 11 or higher so that the program in question is compatible with your 'OS' Windows Vista.

However please be advised that Windows Vista should already have a full operational Windows Media Player.

2. Let's check if your Windows Media Player 11 is enabled before we download & install' – Please go to;

Control Panel > Programs&Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off > – Look for the 'windows features' window – Please scroll down then click on 'Expand Media Features'- Here you will see your media features – If Windows Media Player 11 is installed you will see this here – If you can see 'Windows Media Player' please make sure it is ticked (ON).

If for whatever reason you do not see the Windows Media Player then we need to download and install the latest version.

Please go to the official website for your free download of the latest version of Windows Media Player:
This should answer your questions and solve your issues. Please see the attached picture for further help.

First solution is you may install Microsoft Windows Media player (version11. 0 or above) and see what happen. May be after installation of Media player latest version it will work properly.

Second solution is you may install You Cam again following this steps. Please check the web site and follow the instructions, there you will find some recommended solutions.

Hope it will solve your problem.

Thank you and have a good day.

You can fix this issue by following a simple technique. Just install Windows Media Player which is 11.0 or higher. Next go to Control Panel>>All Programs>>Features>>and Turn Windows Features on or off. From Windows Features search for Media Features and then select Windows Media Player and click OK. That’s all, your problem solved.

Also don’t forget to visit this Techyv’s post “An Error during installation of Cyberlink Youcam” which is described about this problem too.

Actually, the system requirements for CyberLink YouCam didn’t mention anything about Windows Media Player or any prerequisite software. Normally, CyberLink YouCam supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 and requires at least Intel Pentium 4 3.06 GHz or faster processor, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB free hard drive space, non built-in graphics adapter, and webcam.

The latest version, CyberLink YouCam 7, supports up to Windows 10 and dropping Windows XP among its supported operating systems. If your current version has a problem with Windows Media Player, try upgrading Windows Media Player to version 11 or higher supported by Windows Vista.

Or better yet, simply update your operating system to Service Pack 2 since it will also install the latest version of Windows Media Player for Windows Vista. To update your operating system, download and install Windows Vista Service Pack 2. This is the latest and last Service Pack update for Microsoft Windows Vista. After updating, see if CyberLink YouCam is working.

Additionally, if you want to update CyberLink YouCam, go to CyberLink YouCam 7. The standard version costs $29.95 while the Deluxe version is at $44.95.
