Windows Media Player demands reinstallation

Some of my colleagues and I have been encountering an error with Windows Media Player. The error keeps saying the WMP should be re-installed for the different version. Moreover, it states that the system needs a different version of WMP and its reading a different version, but I don’t want to change my WMP again.

Help me out here please. My colleagues and I will be eternally grateful.

The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 11.0.6001.7000 where

11.0.6002.16489 was expected.

Windows Media Player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.

Windows Media Player demands reinstallation

This error describes that version of wmp.dll in the registry is out of synchronization. Synchronization must be the same as it was at the time of installation. I will suggest you the following solutions, it will be solved.

1. First of all close your window media player.
2. Click on Start, go to “All Programs” and then click Accessories.
3. Right-click on Command Prompt, and select “Run as Administrator”.
4. In the Command Prompt type the “UNREGMP2.EXE /UPDATEWMPVERSION” and press enter.

Windows Media Player demands reinstallation

Hi,

Windows media player is a good player from Microsoft in some cases this needs to be updated in a period of time go to start my computer control panel and system security windows update.this will make some file visible to some errors in your windows media player. You may try some other media players like me use VLC player.

Windows Media Player demands reinstallation

Hi,

Do the following to correct your problem:

1. Click Start Button, then All Programs, then Accessories.

2. Right click Command Prompt and choose Run as Administrator. Enter your password if prompted.

3. Use the following commands.

unregmp2.exe/updatewmpversion

regsvr32wmp.dll

This should solve your problem with the registry. The WMP version number will sync with the Windows Registry.
