Hello!
I have an Android cell phone which I recently bought, and I have installed so many applications. But then suddenly when I installed this one application I got an error . It won't allow me to do it. Is there any Android user out there who have experienced this? I really need your help on this.
"Installation error
Package file is invalid".
Packaged file is invalid in Android
This is an error caused by too much cache from your Android apps. You can get this when you update your apps or when you don't clear your application cache often.
There are two options.
-
Clear the cache of your apps or the .apk files in the directory of your phone. If this step would work, good for you.
-
If after clearing the cache you get the same error, it's time to choose the apps you really need or just transfer it to your SD card. There are numerous applications in the Android Market that you can use in dealing with your apps and transferring them to your SD card.
You must now remember to clear the cache and manage your apps as often as possible to avoid such errors in the future.
Good luck!

That is not an error with your phone or with the Android app you are installing. That error happens if you try to install an Android app that is not compatible with your phone. This can happen if you downloaded the Android app or the APK file from a different website and not from the Google Play store.
When you download apps from the Google Play store, the site or Google Play ensures you are downloading the correct app that is compatible with your phone’s firmware. It may or may not display apps that are not compatible with your device. Downloading APK files from other websites are done by advanced users only who know what they are doing.
This can be dangerous because you don’t know if the app was modified and something unknown was inserted to it. Download and install APK files outside of the Google Play store only if you know what you are doing. Since you receive the error upon installing, check the page again where you downloaded it and check its compatibility requirements or the supported Android versions.
This can give you an idea why the error was triggered.
