The most important thing to do wherever you go, whether to school, college, or work, is to check the weather. When going on a trip, it is especially important to keep track of the weather. Although you have no control over whether the sun shines, rainfalls, or the wind howls, these useful Android and iOS apps can help you prepare for whatever Mother Nature has in store. The weather at a location is critical for our preparation. There are plethoras of weather forecasting apps available, making it difficult to choose one. The most useful apps are listed below.
1. AccuWeather
AccuWeather can provide you with everything from a quick reading of the current temperature and weather conditions to a detailed precipitation analysis. This app is available for both Android and iOS and is completely free. It also has over 3 million locations set for weather assumptions. MinuteCast is one of the app’s best and exciting features. This feature informs the user of the minute-by-minute forecast for the next two hours. The app sends users’ severe weather alerts for events such as snowfall, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. Aside from telling you whether it is sunny or raining, the app also tells you the UV index, air quality, wind direction, humidity, and cloud coverage.
2. RadarScope
The app provides High-resolution radar data. The app can track storms in a specific area. The live weather app provides weather enthusiasts with NEXRAD level 3 data from radar stations in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, Okinawa, and Korea. It also shows the current weather conditions’ velocity, dual polarization, and reflectivity.
3. Weather Underground
This app, is one of the best for keeping up with weather conditions, is based on over 30,000 individual weather stations. The app can also predict how long a rainstorm will last and how fast the wind will blow. The most amazing feature is its ‘Smart Forecast.’ Using this feature, you can instruct the app to predict a time for hiking, running, or a trip in the near future. For instance, you must describe the weather conditions under which you wish to go out. Assume you enjoy going on outings when the sky is partly cloudy. The app will forecast the next time it will be cloudy on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
4. Flowx
If you want to see weather from a completely different angle, Flowx is the way to go. It has a radar map function system with animations that scrolls. The app provides users with accurate forecasts and additional information in maps, graphs, and charts. Users have the option of manually entering custom locations or opting for automatic location information insertion. However, the app is not available for iOS devices.
5. Weather On The Way
Weather can be dangerous while driving, and while most apps do not display this information, weather on the way can. When you start a journey, enter the app with your starting point, destination, and time. The app will show you the best route and the current weather conditions. If you allow the app, it will begin collecting your current location data as soon as you begin driving. Its ‘Timeline feature’ can show you the weather at various points along your route. Furthermore, the app can provide more detailed weather information for that location, such as wind speed and direction, humidity, temperature, and precipitation level.
6. Appy Weather
Appy Weather is, in comparison, the newest weather app on the list. It has a slew of features, including the majority of those found in every weather app. It’s more distinctive features include a much more personalised feed than most, a fun and fashionable user interface, and hyperlocal weather. For the time being, it uses Dark Sky’s API, but other options should be available in the near future. The subscription is available at a reasonable price which is $3.99 per year. It has a few bugs here and there, but it’s quickly becoming a favorite among many.
7. Google Feed
Google Assistant isn’t your typical weather app. It can, however, display the weather. You request the forecast from Google. You can request current weather conditions, weather alerts, and other information. Click on the weather card to access additional information on the web. It lacks many features found in other weather apps, such as weather widgets and a built-in radar. It is, however, ideal for quick checks, quick updates, and severe weather alerts. It’s also completely free. The app is also pre-installed on the majority of Android devices.
8. Yahoo Weather
Yahoo’s weather app is, without a doubt, their best app. It has a beautiful design, important weather information, weather alerts, a radar, and other features. Up to 20 cities will get tracked by the app. It displays stunning imagery from sites such as Flickr. But that’s about all it does. It provides basic weather information while also being visually appealing. That’s fine if that’s all you require. Those looking for something more serious, on the other hand, may need to look elsewhere. Yahoo Weather is available for free with no in-app purchases. It does, however, contain advertisements.
9. NOAA Weather
NOAA Weather Unofficial is an app that gets its information from the NOAA and the National Weather Service. You can find the most recent weather forecasts, hourly conditions, radar, and other information. You can track multiple cities simultaneously, and there are weather widgets to choose from. The app’s only drawback is that it does not support severe weather alerts. You can check those in the app, but that’s all there is to it. There are two versions: free and paid. We recommend starting with the free one.
10. The Weather Channel
Weather Channel is easily one of the most well-known weather apps available. Fortunately, it covers all of the fundamentals. This includes the current temperature, forecasts for the future, severe weather alerts, radar, and other information. It also contains breaking news, lightning warnings, and pollen warnings. There are several widgets, as well as a separate tablet UI and other features. It makes no compromises. Having said that, with all of these features, The Weather Channel app is one of the largest on the list and is not a good choice for minimalists. Otherwise, it’s perfectly usable.
