Steps to run combo fix from dos

Hello guys.

I just had a Combofix and I was wondering about how to run combo fix from DOS.

Can you please comment back the steps in doing it?

Steps to run combo fix from dos

Hi Smithy,

 

It should be possible for you to run it via Command Prompt.

 

Try the below steps:

 

1. Open Command Prompt with Administrator Access (Open As Administrator if you are able to login to Windows Desktop).
2. Assuming you are aware of the location where you have placed the downloaded Combofix.exe file.
3. Navigate to the location where you have placed the file. For e.g., if the file is in.
4. Desktop, then type 'CD C:Users<Username>Desktop' (without quotes) for Windows 7 and type 'CD Documents and Settings<Username>Desktop' (without quotes) for Windows XP and hit 'Enter'.
5. Once you are in the file location, simply type the filename Combofix.exe and hit 'Enter'.
6. At this point, the Combofix UI should pop up and start the cleaning process.
