Every time I open Microsoft Office Word 2013 there is this start screen with a list of recent documents and many useless templates. I find this really annoying, as I almost always need an empty document anyway.
Is there a way to get rid of this start screen altogether? How can I make this start screen disappear?

How do I get rid of the start screen in MS Word?
Hello,
It’s quite easy to get rid of the ridiculously strange start screen of Word 2013. It’s so easy that even a child would do that.
1. Start MS Word 2013 again with the “Blank” template.
2. Go to File >> Option.
3. From the left pane, select “General”.
4. Under “Start up options”, uncheck “Show the Start screen when this application starts”.
5. Close Word 2013.
Now, start Word 2013 and the strange Start page won’t bother you again. If you want to get it back, just do the reverse task.
