Please help me to find the best Antivirus software that will be free for Mac. My main motive is to prevent web spawned threats as I am using the Internet from my MacBook

I recommend you avast! antivirus solution for mac. It is highly recommended and praised by many users.

As you stated, it has free version. It should suit your requirements.

It includes security from web-spawned threats and such.

No need to configure it because standard configuration is good enough.

I`ve been using Avast antivirus for over 4 years and is very happy with its performance. You can download it from https://www.avast.com/free-mac-security  It is for Mac and Windows compatible.

You can download it for free. This  version I`ve been using without regrets. It keeps you updated every time you go on the internet, or stay on. The updates are not big if your data plan is not big.

Another free antivirus is Kaspersky also good. Updates easily without any hassles. You can download it from https://usa.kaspersky.com/
