Hi guys,
I have a kind of basic knowledge on Sketchup and also have gone ahead and a couple 3D structures in the recent past but I need a current view of Google earth to insert into Sketchup.
When I do find a location this message comes on screen:
Google Earth Snapshot
Google SketchUp is unable to connect to Google Earth.
Please make sure Google Earth is installed, running, and connected (you are able to see the Earth).
Close and restart SketchUp, and then click Get Current View again.
If it still doesn’t work, please search the Help Center for ‘SketchUp is unable to connect to Google Earth.’
Any help will be much appreciated…

Google Sketchup not connecting with Google earth
To run Google Sketchup and Google Earth, you must run as Administrator. Open the Explorer then find the sketchup.exe. Right click it then open Properties. Go to Capability tab and check "Run ad Administrator". Click OK then run Sketchup.
If the error box still show, find Google Earth's shortcut on the Start menu. Right click Google Earth then click Properties. Copy the target path on Properties box including the quotation marks. Usually the path is: "C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle Earthgoogleearth.exe".
Close the properties box. Now goto Start > Run. Paste the path to the box and add space and a forward slash, then type: regserver. It should be like this:
"C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle Earthgoogleearth.exe" /regserver
Click OK.
Now test Sketchup and GE again.
Google Sketchup not connecting with Google earth
Are you able to run the Google Earth application on your computer, because the problem in this case seems to be with the Google earth and not the sketch up application. It may be corrupt and therefore you will need to fix it. Do the following:
Try running Google earth without using sketch up.
Does not run well or it does not run at all? In case Google earth cannot be executed then you will need to reinstall it to fix any bug it may have developed.
Once you have done the reinstallation, you can now try connecting the SketchUp application to it again and see if it will work fine.
