It is possible to downgrade iOS 8 beta to iOS 7.1.1 but with some limitations. When you downgrade your iOS 8 beta device to iOS 7.1.1, all your data from iOS 8 will be lost. If you have an iOS 8 backup, you cannot use it on iOS 7 to restore all your data. Also, you cannot downgrade or install an older version of iOS 7 because version 7.1.1 is currently the only one Apple is signing.

This is also the reason why this method still works. This method will stop working once Apple releases the official iOS 8. Before we begin, make sure you have the latest iTunes. If you haven’t updated yet, download and install iTunes 11.4. It supports Windows XP Service Pack 3, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

If you have 64-bit Microsoft Windows, download iTunes 11.4 for 64-bit Windows. It supports 64-bit Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8. To begin, turn off your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8. Press and hold the Home button then plug your device to your computer. Don’t release the Home button until you see the screen asking you to connect to iTunes. See image.

iTunes will show a pop-up telling you that there is an iPhone or iPad that is in Recovery Mode and that it needs to be restored before it can be used. Click OK. See image.

Click Restore iPhone if you have an iPhone or Restore iPad if it is an iPad. See image.

Another pop-up will appear confirming you want to restore your device. Click “Restore and Update”. See image.

After that, iTunes will download and install the latest official firmware, iOS 7.1.1. Once the firmware is installed, your device will restart and you should be back on iOS 7.1.1. See image.
