Desktop computers were the cutting edge of computing technology a few decades ago. Nowadays, a laptop will more than suffice, save you space, and money on power bills, and allow you to use any surface as your new work surface unless you have a purpose-built desktop with wacky components. The portability and space savings that you gain when switching from a desktop computer to a laptop come at a cost, which is a significant barrier. This cost could take the form of anything from a slower CPU clock to the inability to use the right peripherals.
1. Dell Alienware 17 R5
Performance for gaming, rendering, and content creation is increased thanks to dynamic power shifting between a Radeon GPU and an APU, which is now exclusively available on Alienware laptops. By allowing discrete Radeon graphics or Ryzen graphics to handle rendering and presentation while maintaining AMD FreeSyncTM, frame rates can be increased, latency can be decreased, and battery life can be increased.

2. MSI GE75 Raider
With this MSI gaming laptop, enjoy smooth and powerful gaming performance. This laptop provides an excellent audio-visual experience thanks to its quick refresh rate and large speakers. Additionally, even when you play video games for a long time, it stays cool thanks to the dual-fan cooling system and 8 heat pipes.

3. ASUS ROG Zephyrus
Take the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 gaming laptop with you wherever you go to take your gaming station with you. For slick performance, the laptop is equipped with a potent AMD Ryzen 7 4800HS processor. A 120 Hz QHD panel is also included to give you an immersive viewing experience. Additionally, you have access to more than 100 high-quality PC games because of the included Xbox Game Pass membership.

4. New Apple Macbook Pro
Apple MacBook Pro is a macOS laptop with a 13.30-inch screen and a 2560×1600 pixel resolution. It has a Core i5 processor and 12GB of RAM as part of the package. 512GB of SSD storage is included in the Apple MacBook Pro. Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth, 2 USB 3.0 ports, and Mic In ports are all included as connectivity options.

5. Razer Blade 15
The new Razer Blade 15 boasts the most cutting-edge 14-core 12th Gen Intel CoreTM processor and the most potent gaming laptop graphics ever, just when you thought a gaming laptop couldn’t get any more fierce. Choose from a Full HD 360Hz, QHD 240Hz (G-SYNC or OLED), or new UHD 144Hz display to experience unmatched performance packed into the thinnest 15″ RTX gaming laptop chassis ever.

6. Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5
The IdeaPad Flex 5 line from Lenovo has been a fantastic value proposition for a while, and this 2-in-1 model is no exception. There is a quick AMD Ryzen 5 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 256-GB SSD in addition to the 360-hinge, which supports a tent mode for better movie viewing angles and a tablet mode. For both serious web browsers and essay writers, that combination is sufficient. Should you need a little bit more performance, there is also a Ryzen 7 model available, though it is slightly more expensive.

7. Dell XPS 13
The Dell XPS 13 series has long been among our favorite Windows laptops. The design aesthetic of the XPS 13 Plus (7/10, WIRED Recommends) made it feel out of date. Despite the initial impression that the visual changes were merely concept design material, the “invisible” trackpad operates like a dream and significantly improves the minimalist appearance.

8. Microsoft Surface Laptop Go 2
The best value laptop of the year is the Surface clamshell, a miniature Microsoft device (so far). To keep costs down, the Surface Laptop Go 2 (8/10, WIRED Recommends) may not offer many surprises and utilize an 11th-generation Intel processor rather than the newest 12th generation, but unlike many low-cost laptops, this Surface doesn’t skimp on style. It resembles a cheap MacBook the most that you can get.

9. LG Gram 16
Few gadgets astound you as much as the LG Gram. Despite having an enormous 16-inch screen, it is surprisingly light. This is the main justification for purchasing this laptop; if you find that most 13- or 14-inch laptop screens are too small for working at a coffee shop, this 16-inch model should work just fine and won’t be too heavy to carry. The QHD+ display isn’t the brightest or most vivid, and the speakers sound good but aren’t very loud. However, the 12th-generation Intel Core i7 chip offers good performance (the Core i5 is also powerful enough for the majority, but it’s harder to find in stock) and a wide range of ports.

10. Acer Swift 3X
One of the first products to use Intel’s XE Graphics technology, which is redefining graphics, is the Acer Swift 3X. Far from providing high-end gaming performance, the GPU will boost your graphics, allowing you to make simple content on this small and light machine. Students majoring in creative and design fields benefit greatly from the combination of performance and small size, even though it is expensive for the quality.
