I have not allowed the windows online updater to update my computer. Â I'm not sure that my computer has an original Windows 7 copy, as I have heard if the copy is a fake version my computer will be tracked and terminated. Â So how can I find out if my copy of Windows 7 is original or not?
How to Identify an original windows copy
To verify that your copy is original, you must possess the computer's certificate of authenticity also known as the COA from Microsoft.
This certificate usually comes with the CD, your Operating system was installed with. It’s just a label but don’t throw it away. It is a quick identifier of an original copy. If you were the one who installed the said operating system then you should possess the CD. The certificate of authenticity is found on the CD case.
If you were not the one who installed the operating system, then you should ask whoever installed on this system or contact the computer manufacturer where you bought your computer.
Always buy and transact only with trusted and legitimate businesses. Counterfeit copies induce your computer to risks that are not covered by any warranty.
