You do not actually download the plugin, you just need to update the plugin. Go to https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ and check which of your plugin are out of date and update.
The previous version some time does not open some PDF link and screen just goes to a blank blue screen but they solve this problem in the new adobe plugin.
If you are referring to the Flash Player plug-in, you actually need to update it once in a while because it will start to become faulty when you don’t update and keep on using the old version. And also, websites will alert you if the content on their page requires a new version of Adobe Flash Player which your existing version doesn’t support.
Updating the Flash Player has to be done manually because sometimes the automatic update function of the plug-in doesn’t work. If you are using different web browsers like Opera, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Windows Internet Explorer, you need to install different versions of the Flash Player. But you don’t need to download them manually because it is up to your web browser which one to download.
There are different versions of the Flash Player plug-in: the ActiveX, NPAPI, and PPAPI. The ActiveX version is the plug-in designed for Windows Internet Explorer. The NPAPI version is the plug-in designed for Mozilla Firefox. The PPAPI version is the plug-in designed for Opera and other Chromium-based web browsers such as Google Chrome and Maxthon. You don’t need to actually download them separately.
Just start your web browser and visit Get Adobe Flash Player to download the plug-in specific to your web browser.
