Whats the process to downgrade Windows 7 to Windows XP?
The process is relatively easy but it is quite lengthy.
First, you have to make sure that you did not delete the Windows. Old folder in the partition where you installed Windows 7. Check the size of the Windows 7. Old folder. Make sure that the size of the folder is less than two times of the free space in the partition.
Then note down your windows 7 partition letter and the DVD-ROM partition letter.
Then insert the windows 7 installation disk and reboot your pc or laptop.
Initiate the boot program. Finish the first step of typing your language, etc.
Then click the Repair Your Computer option on the bottom left pane.
Select Windows 7 OS and then click next.
After that, a window will appear where you will have to click command prompt to start downgrading your windows 7 to windows XP.
Type the following commands one by one and then hit enter after each command-
D: Md Win7
D: Move Windows Win7Windows
D: Move "Program Files" "Win7Program Files"
D: Move Users Win7Users
D: Attrib –h –s –r ProgramData
D: Move ProgramData Win7ProgramData
D: Rd "Documents and Settings"
Then type in the commands mentioned below 1 by 1.
move /y d:Windows.oldWindows d:
move /y "d:Windows.oldProgram Files" d:
move /y "d:Windows.oldDocuments and Settings" d:
The letter d / D represents the partition in which windows7 was installed.
Then restore the boot sector by entering the following command:
E:bootbootsect /nt52 d:Â (Where E is your DVD-Rom partition).
Finally restore the boot.ini file by typing the following commands:
1. Attrib –h –s –r boot.ini.saved
2. Copy boot.ini.saved boot.ini
Type Exit and restart your pc/laptop to start using Windows XP again!

Hi,
Sorry to say that, I think your hard disk just partially crashed.
You can fix this error permanently by using boot partition. Best way to use the unique operating system for using. Dual operating system sometimes is not for low or medium configuration’s personal computer.
Please set up the windows again. When you are going to partition the hard drive from boot, you need bootable windows operating CD/DVD or a portable device.
Now select and go for the windows installation program.
When the selection drive window will open, select your drive, select advanced option and make your desired partitions depending on your requirement. Format those drive and go for further installation.
