How to get rid of pop ups after updating OSX Yosemite?

I installed Yosemite and I got a pop up immediately stating that I need to install Java Runtime. Then I clicked the “More Info” button which opened a Oracle site asking me to download Java 8u25 instead of Java 6 or Java 7. But even after installing Java JRE 8u25, I am not able to get rid of this annoying pop ups till now. Can anyone help me please?

I’m not sure if it is a problem with your operating system. In Microsoft Windows, you only get a message to install JRE or Java Runtime Environment when you open a web app from a website and the app requires Java. If you don’t have it then it will eventually ask you to install it.

Also, you will have a pop up when a particular application requires updating. For example the Java Runtime Environment, you will see a pop up when an update is available for the program. The cause of the pop ups on your computer is probably caused by the programs currently installed that requires updating.

Also, since Yosemite is the newest Mac operating system, the pop ups probably came from installed applications that require additional components to be installed for the new operating system. So, since you are using the latest MAC OS X, it is only appropriate to check what the pop ups are for so you can install which ones are necessary and which ones should be ignored.
