Fake Intel Core i7 Processor?

I recently bought a pre-built desktop computer with Intel Core i7 920 processor in it. It was from an online seller so I went to see the specs to make sure if I got all the specifications I paid for. Everything looks great until I noticed something I wasn't sure about in cpu-z. Why does it show "Genuine Intel(R) CPU 000 @ 2.67GHz (ES)"? Why is it a "000" and what does "ES"  mean?

Fake Intel Core i7 Processor?

Hi Rob,

This is not a fake CPU but an Engineering Sample (ES).

The code '000' is assigned by Intel to all their new CPUs, all those which are not officially released to the market yet. The default code is usually to identify Engineering Samples, for testing and evaluation purposes. These will eventually be converted to a proper model name such as Intel Core i7 920 etc. once the official release date is determined.

Fake Intel Core i7 Processor?

Hi, 

 

It's hard to make a fake processor  at this time the Intel engineers make that code for testing their new high end processor and to make sure the highest quality of the i7 series of Intel processors and some i3 i5 series have the same code also it's better to make a new cooling fan upgrade.
