Is Yahoo the default search engine for Firefox users?

Google has been the default search engine for Firefox users for the past ten years. I heard that now Firefox has joined hands with Yahoo for next five years. Is it really true? What is real reason behind this change all of a sudden? Can anyone throw light on this issue?

What you heard is true. Firefox has changed their hands with yahoo now. It's a big move I would say. Mozilla has long depended on Google to power their searches. But now there has risen a rivalry between two companies. Google’s Chrome displaced Firefox as the leading browser on personal computers, with 51.3% of the global market, according to researchers.
