NVIDIA, worst company for Linux?
During a question and answer session at Aalto University in Finland, Linus Torvald describes Nvidia as the single worst company they had ever dealt with. He then goes on into explaining the details and ends with saying “f*** you”, with his middle finger raised on to the camera.
This sentiment of Linus Torvald is due to Nvidia’s compromised Optimus technology support for Linux. Nvidia’s reason for having little support to Linux is because of the fact that Nvidia’s Tegra line of ARM chips is a hit in the market because of the development and success of Android, a very familiar OS nowadays for mobile phones which originated mainly on Linux. This is why Linus Torvald is very disappointed in Nvidia's performance.
