I recently bought a used Asus motherboard from one of my friends and installed it into my CPU. After i completed this when i pressed the power button it successfully worked, however when i tried switching the computer on after another hour it did not turn on.
This happens on a very regular basis, sometimes it works where as at other times it does not turn on.
Thank you for your help.
Why does my PC not turn on regularly?
The power button might be broken:
-
Loose cable to board connection
-
Switch don't make contact with each other
The power supply is not working properly:
-
There are parts broken inside its own box
-
Some of the wires might be grounded
To make sure, try repairing the power button when the contacts don't meet each other. you can glue it again or something just make sure it makes contact with what is seen as the power button in the front of the CPU case. If its not the problem, buy a new a power supply unit and replace you power supply unit for testing.
