Hi, I’m having an error in MS outlook. I recently installed Outlook connector and tried to send and receive files without any success. I always get an error message of the code 0x80004005. However I am able to send and receive mails properly without any problems. Please suggest to me a solution to this problem. Thank you.

Hello,

This error message with code 0x80004005 appears if Norton Anti-Virus is installed and the script blocking option is enabled in it. Disable the script blocking option in the Norton Anti-Virus. Another work around can be done by disabling the email notification in MS Outlook which can be done through email options. Go to options on Tools menu and click on Preferences tab. Click on Email Options. Check the check box against Display a notification message when new mail archives. But this way is not suggested. The best way is to get an update of Norton Anti-Virus from Semantic site.

Hi Kenneth,

Try this steps. (You must install latest Microsoft Outlook Connector)

1. Close MS Outlook Application.

2. Open your Email Address  using Windows Live Messenger.

3. Click Options, then Click More Options

4. Click the "Junk Mail Safe and blocked senders" box

5. Delete all entries in Safe Senders and domains and delete also all entries in Safe Mailing Lists and entries in Blocked senders

6. Open MS Outlook Application and the error will never pop-up again.
