Problems with connecting Xbox with monitor

Hi! i bought recently Xbox One and now I need to connect it to my monitor philips 227el. At first I was using HDMI – DVI but it didn't have sound, then I bought HDMI – VGA and separate output for sound, but now monitor shows message that there is no video signal. After many many attempts it finally showed picture for 10 seconds and then again no signal. Please advise.

Hello Johnie!

If this keeps on happening always try to unplug and re-plug/unseat or re-seat your High-Definition Multimedia Interface/Digital Visual Interface (HDMI/DVI) connector to replenish signal in your monitor. Or even better if you have any cleaning agent that you can use to clean the connector. The reason for this is the so called “corrosion.” Clean both ends of the connector. Dirt and oxidization contributes a big factor to any silicon based technology. Do not use any pointed objects to clean the tip of the connector.
