Why is it every time I connect my speaker to my computer, it isn't making any sound? I'm pretty sure that my speaker is working as I have tested it onto my iPod. I've even tried reinstalling my sound card driver but it didn't make any difference.
Why isn’t my speaker making any sound?
Hello there,
Well if you have connected it properly then the problem shold be either with the sound controller or with audio drivers. Did you try the Mute and Unmute buttons? Also check that the volume is high in the volume control bar.
Did you select the speakers as Playback device in the Sound or Audio Control Panel? If not then you got to do that first and is still there's no sound you need to check if you have all the required audio drivers installed in your PC. If not install it and restat your PC and thats it you're done.
Hope this helps.
Thanks!!

A common problem with speaker is the wire connector that connects to your computer. I have problem with this many times and I return back and replace my speaker to where I bought.
Good thing that you have tried it in your iPod and it works fine. I'm sure your computer should have a different speaker connector in either at the back and or in the front side. Tried using different connector and see if that will make a difference.
Basing on the information you've posted, driver is updated and you even re-install the driver of your sound card. So, it could've been just a simple connector issue that's not matching the slot. Try to wiggle it and secure it tight. You can also try using speaker's splitter by adding either USB speaker connector.
