Trouble with the touchpad of my HP Pavilion dv6000.

I am having trouble with the touchpad of my HP Pavilion dv6000. I get an error that shutdown the program "Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements". The touchpad's sensitivity suddenly becomes slow and the scroll bar on the side stops working.

I would restart and the problem goes away, only to return a few minutes or so later. I tried to download and reinstalled the drivers, but it doesn't solve a thing.

Also, when I select mouse from the Control Panel, I get this error:

HP Pavilion dv6000-Synaptics Touchpad Enhancements error

Unable to connect to the Synaptics Pointing Device Driver.

If you have installed another PS/2 Pointing Device Driver please uninstall the Synaptics driver by clicking on the Yes button. You then need to reinstall your pointing device driver for your external device again. Do you want to uninstall the Synaptics driver now?

Can anyone show me how to fix my problem?

Thanks in advance.
