I have a desktop computer that is heating up in the core processor, I want to make my fan operate at a slighter speed because of my ambient temperatures at this place are higher, is there a way that I an regulate this fan speed? I want to cool my core processor.
How to regulate my fan speed for higher ambient tempatures
One way to control the speed of your CPU fan is through the BIOS. Your computer’s BIOS has a built-in fan control system that will allow you to adjust the speed of your CPU cooling fan according to temperature or set it to maximum speed if you are in a hot location.
By default, as what I see in most computers, it is disabled. I don’t know if the owner only changed it but I always see it disabled. To speed up your CPU cooling fan, go to the BIOS by pressing DELETE then search for the fan settings. After finding it, enable it then adjust it according to your needs.
If you want to put it on the fastest speed, select the maximum speed or select the setting with the highest RPM and then save the settings and exit. From now on, your CPU cooling fan will operate at the fastest possible speed. See image.
Aside from going to the BIOS to change the speed of the CPU cooling fan, the easiest way to control and manage its speed is to install a fan control software like SpeedFan. To try it, visit SpeedFan 4.50. It supports Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.
