My iPhone 5 shows some strange connectivity issues. I cannot connect the phone to WiFi router, sometimes it refuses to connect and sometimes it connects but it drops the connection suddenly. I have even tried to work out of this problem by standing next to the router but the signal strength is extremely low. How to get around this problem?
Strange connectivity issues with Iphone 5
When connecting to a Wi-Fi network, your connection always depends on the signal strength of the Wi-Fi network itself. If you receive a very weak Wi-Fi signal, that means it is very far or the Wi-Fi hotspot is far from your location. And remember, you can only connect to a Wi-Fi network if you know the password or it is a public Wi-Fi network where anybody can connect.
The iPhone 5 Smartphone is equipped with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with dual-band and hotspot and I know it has a perfectly working Wi-Fi adapter. The only issue that I know of with iPhone 5 is the purple flare issue with its camera. In your case, if you want to connect your iPhone 5 to a nearby Wi-Fi, make sure you know the password if it is not a public Wi-Fi network.
There is no way you can connect to a protected or secure Wi-Fi network if you don’t know its password. A password is always required in order to access a secure Wi-Fi network.

Well this is a recently reported problem after a recent update given by the Apple, but there are some solutions to solve this , first one is simply disabling Wi-Fi networking option might solve your problem if not try reset networking setting. If it also not work the try to reset your DNS to custom setting if it does solve your problem, then simply resetting your phone to new phone would solve this.
