I am currently looking into a career into advertising and more specifically product imaging. I am a novice at using Photoshop. Can anyone point me to ways to learn the basics to Photoshop? Also I wanted to ask whether Photoshop is the only program for image manipulation or are there any simpler program?
Photoshop basic and alternative for product imaging
The standard software for photo publishing are Coreldraw and Adobe Pagemaker. Photoshop is itself a simple software, mainly used for photo manipulation and / or freehand drawing. You can learn basics of Photoshop from YouTube, but for advanced functions you can take an online course. I will suggest you start with Photoshop 7.0 then upgrade it to CS 3. For a much simpler photo manipulation Picasa is also handy.
