I really like the idea of becoming a DBA but not sure about going to college. I noticed that for 2015 becoming a database admin was at the top the list for growing careers. Is there a way to become certified and still qualify for a DBA job? Or a technical school online that you can work on your certification?

That is a very confusing question. Thinking of becoming a database administrator someday but without going to college is really something. To think the job deals mainly on computers and if this is the case, taking a bachelor’s degree in computer science would be necessary since it is a prerequisite to most IT jobs.

Then again, the demand for DBAs or database administrators is very high to the point that several entry-level data jobs are only requiring a 2-year course or probably an associate’s degree in computer science or in information systems. If you want to be a database administrator, one recommends that you begin by studying the SQL programming language.

The SQL is the programming language to which the database queries are written in or coded. You can enroll on a single course in IT or programming. I’m not sure if you will like this but for the database administrator positions, majority of the employers favor applicants who have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or management of information systems, or information systems.
