Hi,
I need some help. Just recently, my computer started behaving a bit odd.
Programs would take some time to start and sometimes my computer seems to hang for a moment.
Today, when I opened it and was trying to access the internet, this error message popped up:
System Process – Out of Virtual Memory
Your system is running low on virtual memory. Please close some application. You can then start the System option in the Control Panel and choose the Virtual Memory button to create an additional paging file or to increase the size of your current paging file.
OK
I have no idea what a paging file is, how much more how to increase its' size.
I don't want to experiment lest I make things worse.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks!

Running Low on Virtual Memory
You are getting low on your RAM, and when required memory exceeds that of your RAM, then OS page the memory files from your hard drive.
Make sure you have ample space in your hard disk, or especially the one in which your operating system is installed. If the problem still remains, then you need to change the size of the paging file.
For that, go to;
Start > Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance > System > On Advanced Tab, under Performance, click 'Settings' > On Advanced Tab, under virtual memory, click 'Change'.
Now Select the drive in which you have installed your operating system or have enough space, atleast 3 times of your RAM. Now in custom size, change initial size and maximum size.
Usually initial size is kept 1.5 times of your RAM, and maximum size is kept 3 times of RAM to ensure stable behaviour.
Hope that helps.
