Diablo II Exception on my windows 7

I am getting this error while trying to run Diablo II on my windows 7 can someone tell me what could be going wrong and how to resolve it?

Diablo II Exception on my windows 7

Hello Dear,

I had also faced this problem. I fixed this issue by following some steps so you also need to follow that steps which are given below.

 First of all go to Diablo.exe and right click on it then go to “properties” after that go to option “compatibility” and select “run this program in compatibility mode” then select “Windows XP (SP3)"  then check the “disable desktop composition”.

The second step is that check the “run this program under administrator” and if you are seeing something extra then uncheck all.

The third step is that go to the tab “shortcut” and add the w after your path then press ok and try to run again.
