I am currently facing a problem when accessing YouTube. I am unable to access some videos on the website. ‘The video you are trying to access is not available in your country’ is the message that is being displayed in the video. Is that a problem on my end and is there any other way to view the video?

Hi John,

 

There is no technical problem at your end. Some videos cater specifically to a particular set of audience based on their geographical location. If the above mentioned message appears, then you will not be able to do anything about it since it is not available for viewing in your location.

Yes, you are right. That problem is on your side particularly your current location or your country. That message on YouTube means the video can only be shown in specific regions and your country is out of the list. But don’t lose hope. There is still a way to watch the video even if your country is not permitted to view it.

You can use a proxy to hide your actual location and use an IP address that is from a different country which virtually transports you from your current location to another country. This will surely allow you to watch the YouTube video that has a regional policy in effect. One way of doing it is to use Psiphon.

It uses VPN, SSH, and HTTP proxy technology so you can access the internet in an uncensored manner. To download, visit Psiphon for Windows. Another way is to use a VPN browser extension or add-in like ZenMate. It is a browser extension for the Opera browser. If you have Opera then visit ZenMate for Opera.

Install it on your Opera browser and you can watch any videos on YouTube that are restricted in your country.
