We can install fonts on to MAC OS also. But it is little tricky process you need to follow the steps carefully.

MAC supports two types of fonts i.e Type 1 and openTypes fonts. The location varies if you want to install the fonts for a specific user.

If you want fonts to be installed for a specific user you need to copy the fonts top /Users/Library/Fonts directory. If you want to install the fonts to all the users you need to copy fonts to /Library/Fonts directory.

You can use the available fonts management tool which will install the fonts to your system. The above ways will not work for Classic OS but it will work for rest all OS's.

Hello James,

Installing fonts on Mac is very easy. You will need to use the following procedure:

  • First of all, you will need to find the fonts that you want to install.
  • In the event that you're installing a TrueType font, you will need only one file.
  • But if you're installing a PostScript font, you will need the printer font as well as the font suitcase containing the screen font.
  • After that you will need to drag the fonts to the System Folder. In case you are prompted to allow the fonts to be moved to the Fonts folder, just click OK.
  • Note that you may also need to quit out of certain programs for the new fonts to be available in those programs.

Regards,

Carl
