I am running Microsoft Windows server operating system right now, I would like to know what the server resource usage is about? What is the expected server resource usage? How can I check or see my server resource usage? How can I monitor it?
What is Server Resource Usage
Server resource usage is all about the disk, memory, processes and events utilization that contributes to server performance. System monitor is the graphical tool that measures server performance. You can see server objects and nature of objects such as memory used, processes running and cache memory.
If you want to monitor resource usage just use system monitor tool and you can easily monitor 1)System events, 2)Disk usage- which will show you information about disk Input output and paging,
3) CPU usage-gives you information about system and processor parameters to monitor server.
4)Memory usage- will give you information about memory parameters to monitor server.
Also you can place alert so that if maximum value for the given parameter is crossed.
