Greetings,
The use of a computer is new to me. I have recently purchased one, but I am not groomed well in using a computer. I want to download an antivirus on my system. A friend of mine recommended me to use eset smart security 5. It's a month now that I installed this antivirus and it was working up to the mark, but all of a sudden, it stopped working. A message appears on the screen, which says to remove any other antivirus, if installed into the system. I had also installed the Norton antivirus. As directed by this message, I removed the Norton antivirus and now I am again trying to install the eset antivirus, but it always gives me an error code. The error is 2878.
Does anybody know what this error means?
I don’t even have the slightest idea as to what it is.
Please lend me a hand to solve the query.
Thanks.
Computer stopped working after the installation of an antivirus
Option 1:
Use the setup copy of the eset smart security to reinstall the same. But this time go for the repair option instead of reinstalling a fresh copy.Â
Option 2:
reinstall the window and go for a fresh copy of every software
Computer stopped working after the installation of an antivirus
Usually operating systems alerts about not installing two antiviruses simultaneously depending upon the antivirus we are using.
The error you are facing is probably due to the reason that the registry key entries are not changed after your uninstallation. Usually on uninstallation what happens is that the files and folders remove from hard disk but the setting which they affected remains same and so the problem. Although editing registry entries is possible but its not recommended if you are a new user because its a bit of complex. So i suggest you to reinstall your window (only window i.e. c drive needs to format) with a fresh copy and that will solve your problem for sure. Contact your computer company for reinstalling window
