I am not sure how to explain this when I was using Linux Mint 2 which name was Bianca I used to attach some picture which it showed while booting and Gnome had boot splash utility which showed what it was loading and when. I have also attached some Pictures of distributions. I wanted to know is it possible with new Linux distributions.

Old GNOME splash screen back?
Hi Clark,
Linux mint 2 uses Plymouth for the splash screen, and Plymouth themes have their default screen as the black screen. The splash screen can some times show up when the operating system is loading. But since your splash screen shows other different themes that are not black screen, then Linux mint 2 you are using could have been enhanced or updated in the status of its themes, and its default theme too.
As you know, the Linux distributions are open source, and they are constantly being updated or made better, so it could be one of the possible upgrades that it has received so far.
The reason why other distributions stick to the black screen as the default theme is because it is lighter, and therefore the boot time is faster. Hence Linux mint may have chosen to let go that.
Hope this helps.
