Hi,
I was using Adobe Illustrator and was navigating objects with Pathfinder effects when I got this error message. I was a bit new to Pathfinder effects. Could someone from this forum explain to me why some effects to objects couldn’t be applied? Please help. Thanks in advance.
Adobe Illustrator
Pathfinder effects should usually be applied to groups, layers or type objects. This may not have any effect on the current selection.

Warning or error when using Pathfinder effects in Adobe Illustrator
Try deleting preferences and see what happens after that. You could also try copy pasting your work into a blank page because there may be many corruptible files present. The problem could be the file and not the program that is the Adobe illustrator. Try to test and see using another file just to see if the same problem will appear. You may try deleting the present file and then use the one that appears below it to just see if the problem is gone. Alternatively you may try resetting the preferences if the deleting does not work. Whenever you receive system errors restart your computer this could be the first step to getting to work with your program without a problem.
