I have been using One Note 2003 on my PC. However, some of the files attached does not automatically open when clicked. What happens is the window pops up and asks what file to open. I chose One Note 2003 and tired clicked on the box that said “Always used selected program to open files of this type.” The box cannot be ticked, so each time I open a similar type of file I have to keep on choosing One Note. Please help me.

Why some attached file does not automatically open in One Note 2003?
Purity,
First of all of the actual one note files have an extension of “.one” e.g? a file name MYFILE, in MS word will be something like MYFILE.doc or MYFILE.docx. The same file if created and saved in one note will be something like MYFILE.one.
Now the one note files which are NOT automatically opening with one note may not have the extension .one
To check this, follow these steps
· Open my computer
· From the organize (in win7) or view (in winXP), click on folder and search option
· From the view menu, search for “Hide extensions for known file types”
· Uncheck this option and click apply
Now you will be able to see the file extension for above mentioned one note files.
Can you see the extension .one?
If not simply rename them with the extension .one.
When you click on this file, it will automatically open with one note

JAMES
