Mac OS X “Mountain Lion”

My switch from Windows network shares to my upgraded Mac OS X “Mountain Lion” is worse than trying to be a vegan.

I can’t access my Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials network shares.

Before, I use “smb://192.168.1.115” to connect to my home server and easily locate my files but with this upgrade, all I can locate is a server error message.

Why can’t I do the same with Mac OS X “Mountain Lion”?

Mac OS X “Mountain Lion”

Hallo Alison,

To resolve that issue, you need a network location manager program, which will allow you to perform certain actions for instance connect to a network drive in the event that the machine is on some networks and not on others. 

Another thing that I will recommend that you do is use the following Script:

• For a Login Item, in the event that you  log off or shutdown your computer  when moving it from home to work or the other way around. That will help in determining the network that the machine is on, and it will base on it when it comes to connection to the network drive, or not.
