I am a Heavy Hotspot Shield user. I want to install Ubuntu on my old laptop because it looks great and it’s also a low resource eater. But my, I am confused if this could be possible since there is no Linux Version of HS. Please help me to find any other way to install Ubuntu without using any VPN Solution. Please be kind enough to respond to my query. Thank you.

Ubuntu installation without using a VPN Solution
Hi,
The only way to go about this installation in your laptop seems that will be to use another desktop to install then transfer the installation to your laptop. Try this method and see if it works for you it worked for me sometime back. Get a 2.5" to 3.5" adapter and plug it into a desktop PC. Use windows xp to format it as a bootable FAT32 drive and put the Windows xp in a folder on the hard disk. Put HD back in the laptop then boot it at this stage use good ol Dos to run the Windows xp, install it. Then use the FAT32>NTFS conversion tool to make the NTFS again. I am sure this way you will sort your problem without undergoing much pain.
