I've never had issues with writing to my DVD drive before and now it isn't working. It appears to be working fine but it isn't, every time I take the disc out and try to play it, it just doesn't work at all. I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this. I'm wondering if I might have a bad batch of discs instead of it actually being the DVD writer?
I can’t write to my DVD drive
First of all, verify whether the particular DVD writer software is up to date and if not, try installing the latest update available.
Also, scan the computer with a virus guard since this can also be due to a virus attack.
Further more, try using an alternative DVD writer to detect whether it is an issue within the computer.
If all these strategies prove to fail, it is advisable to seek for technical assistance since a DVD drive repair or replace might be necessary to solve the issue.
Best Regards!
I can’t write to my DVD drive
If you have a DVD writer but you can no longer burn discs with it, it could be either the drive is faulty or the optical lens requires cleaning. To see if the problem is with the optical drive, try cleaning the lens of the drive. You can use the lens cleaner of your DVD player or you can buy one from a local computer store.
Try checking out the following optical lens cleaners on eBay:
