I had a problem when installing the Microsoft OneNote 2010.

Fix for “Error 2203. An Internal Error Occurred” During Office 2010 Setup

Ensure that you have the Administrator privilege.

 

This is required when installing software such as MS Office since the installer writes the data to the system files automatically.

 

If it doesn't work, you can try the following steps:
 

1. Click Start and then type services.msc on the search box.

 

2. Search for the Windows Installer and then right-click into it and click Stop.

3. Right-click again and select Start to restart it.

4. Click Start and then type %temp% on the search box.

5. Download the takeownership file from the link:

6. Extract the file and start the InstallTakeOwnership.reg and click Yes.

7. Click anywhere on the temp folder and select Take Ownership.

8. You can now install MS Office 2010 without issues.

The reason why that error occurs is because you need to enable some permission to let the installation process finish successfully.
